When Hyder Ali of the Kingdom of Mysore occupied Malabar in 1773, the Raja of Kottayam found political asylum in Travancore. Pazhassi Raja, the fourth prince in line for succession to the throne during this period, became one of the de facto heads of state, surpassing several older royal contenders. He fought a war of resistance against the Mysorean army from 1774 to 1793. On account of his refusal to flee and due to his effective resistance to Mysoreans, he gained firm support of his subjects. King Lalitaditya Muktapida of Kashmir,  one of the biggest empires in world history !              His empire was huge, almost twice the size of Mughals but it didn’t lasted long. Karkota empire collapsed just two years after Lalitaditya’s death. Yashodharma was one such king of central India who had made a huge empire but it collapsed soon after him. In the north, Lalitaditya defeated Arab general Momin of Bukhara and in the south he had friendly relations with Rashtrakuta Queen Ratta(most historian identify this queen as queen Bhavangana, mother of Dantidurga). SAMRAT LALITADITYA MUKTAPIDA OF KASHMIR        King Lalitaditya Muktapida of Kashmir, who by some accounts had one of the biggest empires in world history ? Sind was conquered by Muhammad bin Qasim in 715 AD. He was succeeded by Junad. After conquering Sindh, the Arab marauders set their eyes on the fertile lands of Punjab. Here they met the mightiest of all the kings of that time, a fierce warrior and a brilliant strategist, Lalitaditya Muktapida of Karkota Dynasty.
